Group BCustoms - ABC 56-53Customs topped ABC to win the first game in Group B. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But ABC won third quarter 18-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Customs forced 20 ABC turnovers. It was a great evening for Daniel Aryee (-83) who led his team to a victory scoring 11 points and 5 rebounds. Daniel Ayarna (-94) helped adding 11 points and 5 rebounds. The best for the losing side was guard Kouadio Kouadio (189-90) with 12 points and 9 rebounds and center Seguy Kraka (196-85) scored 7 points and 8 rebounds. ABC's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Pythons were trailing by 3 points at halftime but managed to get 2-point lead after three quarters before a 19-15 charge of Aspac, which allowed them to win the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was an exceptional evening for Nigerian center Ameh Ejeh (196-96) who led the winners and scored 8 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists. Point guard Bernard Lougbegnon (191-93) accounted for 11 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side. Aspac's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Forward John Bing (198-90) came up with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds and Emmanuel Paye (-99) added 7 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for Pythons in the defeat. It was a good game for guard Constant Mandimbison (190-90) who led his team to a victory with 30 points. Solonirina Ramorasata (-89) contributed with 15 points for the winners. GNBC's coach felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was Alex Lado (-95) who recorded 11 points and 6 rebounds and Stephen Rumudu (-93) added 11 points and 7 rebounds respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. They also forced 23 Usoni turnovers and outrebounded them 67-35 including a 30-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. KPA looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a good game for Job Ayodi (-90) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 11 rebounds. Ekiru Ereng (-96) contributed with 16 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Four KPA players scored in double figures. KPA's coach felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Soula El-Had (-89) answered with 33 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds and Hamid Said (-92) added 12 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Usoni. It was a good game for Stephen Rumudu (-93) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists.
